About the artist...

Dan introduced his talents in music, writing and sports at an early age. He won talent shows, was an all star in baseball and a National Honor Society student in the top 10% of his class... everything was going his way. But at 17, with college plans all set, a tragic accident occurred when a hard thrown ball struck him in the head at a summer league baseball practice back in 1981. A TBI (traumatic brain injury) made his daily activities difficult and exhausting, but somehow music was the real medicine that would save him.

Years later after a softball game, Dan was coaxed by his team mates to sing at a karaoke bar. He picked Do It Again by Steely Dan. After a loud applause, the pitcher told him he sounded ‘just like Donald Fagen’ and guaranteed Dan that if he put together a Steely Dan Tribute, it would succeed. At first he didn’t take the complement seriously. Later that evening with his life going nowhere, he realized he had nothing to lose. With a cassette tape and audition flyers in hand, he put the word out all over Fairfield County CT.

Stopping at a music store in Danbury, he bumped into Jeff McGill, a professional teacher and jazz keyboard player. Jeff listened to his voice, and put half of the band together that night. After one audition and 3 run through rehearsals, PRETZEL LOGIC hit the CT stages consistently for a decade.

Why Steely Dan? Why not! Dan managed other successful multi-tribute rock bands up until 2018. Most often at any rock performance, individual listeners would ask him to copy Donald Fagen, John Fogerty, Robert Plant, Steven Tyler, Phil Lynott, Chris Cornell, Paul Rogers and many other artists simply because his renditions were amazing. 

With great music teachers and vocal trainers like David Sorin Collier (Juilliard School of Music/NYC); Melissa Cross (NYC); Phil Campanella (Singers Forum Foundation/NYC) and others, Dan was constantly inspired and in a better place physically as the years went on; proving that music is medicine.
